Last August, we had the pleasure of catering for the lovely Gemma and Julian at Willow Grange Farm, a picturesque venue nestled in the Cambridgeshire countryside.
Spread over two days, this celebration was designed to be relaxed, family-friendly, and filled with a party atmosphere! Their choice of venue was perfect, allowing guests to enjoy on-site glamping and stay for the entire celebration.
The Brief
As mentioned, the brief was to create a relaxed atmosphere while maintaining the formalities of a wedding.
Equally important was ensuring that all guests were well-fed throughout the weekend. With no dining options on-site, our team took on the role of providing the sustenance to keep the celebrations going.
The Wedding Day
Canapès
Following their ceremony in the farm’s converted Silo Barn, guests made their way to the drinks reception, where we were ready with a selection of drinks and canapés. After a tasting session earlier in the year, Gemma and Julian selected these options:
- Caesar Chicken on Parmesan Shortbread
- Thai Prawn Balls with Chilli Jam
- Chorizo with Black Olive Tapenade on Crostini
- Parmesan Arancini
- Creamed Mackerel with Horseradish on Biscuit Wafer
- Beet Hummus with Dukkha and Pita Sticks
These canapés offered variety for guests with dietary restrictions and different tastes and happen to be among our most popular choices.
Starters
After an hour or two of mingling, catching up and debriefing from the ceremony, guests were seated for the first course.
The starters included:
- Devon Crab and Crayfish Tian with Avocado Mousse on En Croute
- Smoked Haddock with Boiled Egg, Parsley Croquette, and Sauce Gribiche
- Crispy Halloumi with Pomegranate Salad
Choosing a wedding date in the height of summer meant we could take advantage of the season’s amazing local produce.
Mains
The main course followed soon after, with the following options:
- Rolled Rump of Beef with Tenderstem Broccoli, Salsify, Soft Green Peppercorns, and Salsa Verde
- Baked Cod with Roasted Tomato, Courgette, Pepper, and Aubergine with Olive Oil Mash and Gremolata
- Twice-Baked Cheese Soufflé with Sautéed Potato, Rocket, Parmesan, and Balsamic Glaze Salad
Desserts
For something sweet to finish, we served the following:
- Chocolate Fondant with Whipped Cream
- Treacle Tart with Cornish Clotted Cream and Raspberry Puree
- Peach Melba with “Pinkster” Boozy Berries, Freeze-Dried and Fresh Raspberries
(Pinkster gin is produced within 20 miles of our kitchens) - Vegan Chocolate Torte
Evening Food
To keep the energy up as the party continued, we served English classics like scotch eggs, sausage rolls, and miniature portions of fish and chips, circulated to guests late into the evening.
The Next Day
Lunch
The morning after the wedding, we arrived with a selection of hearty, hangover-curing food for lunch, giving guests an energy boost for the afternoon’s garden games and mingling. Our lunch menu included:
- Beef Sliders with Cheese, Pickles, and Tomato Relish
- Mushroom and Halloumi Sliders with Tomato Relish
- Panko-Breaded Deep-Fried “Mac ‘n Cheese” with Sriracha Mayo
- Spiced Lamb Kofta with Cucumber Mint Dressing and Chilli Sauce

Dinner
By dinner, our food truck, Rotisseroll, was ready to round out the celebrations with rotisserie porchetta and chicken, perfect for the final night. The menu included:
The Rotisseroll
Rotisserie Chicken and Porchetta served with baby roast potatoes cooked in chicken and porchetta juices.

The Results
Wow! What a weekend.
We were thrilled that guests enjoyed every dish, course, and snack over this jam-packed weekend of celebrations! One of our biggest challenges was creating a diverse and exciting menu for each part of the day. By incorporating different cuisines, service styles, and fresh, seasonal ingredients, we were able to create a menu that felt fresh and exciting from start to finish.
